This method describes the use of the Schopper type of folding apparatus to determine the folding endurance of paper. Folding endurance tests have been used for the estimation of the suitability of paper in use to withstand repeated bending, folding, and creasing.

 

To ensure adequate sampling for this test ten, 8.5” x 11” sheets of paper are requested. Ten replicates will be tested in both MD and CD directions. If sample availability is limited, testing can be completed using one, 8.5” x 11” sheet of paper.
